A warm welcome awaits you!
Our stay at Geckos Rest was truly delightful! The owners, Amy and John, treated us like family, offering personalized recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Breakfast was a feast, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that prepared us for a day of exploring Newquay. The cozy communal lounge became a favorite spot for unwinding with a drink and chatting with other guests, fostering a friendly atmosphere that we cherished.
Although the location near the center of Newquay was convenient, the walk back from the town could be a bit steep, which might be challenging for those with mobility concerns. We also noticed that some rooms lack ocean views, but I understand this varies by availability. It would have been nice to have a scenic view, but it didn't overshadow the lovely experience we had throughout our stay.

Water pressure in the shower could use a boost, particularly for those situated on the top floor. I also found the noise from the lounge area a bit bothersome when returning late, and the uphill trek back from town can be a challenge for the less agile. Limited parking availability meant some planning was necessary, and breakfast timing could be inconvenient for those with earlier schedules who might miss out on their choices. Finally, the stair access to higher rooms could be a drawback for some, which may disrupt overall comfort during a stay.

Stunning views and tasty breakfasts
John and Amy are super friendly and made our stay feel special! The room had amazing views of the bay, and we loved the snack bar — perfect for a quick bite. the bathroom had just a mixer tap for the shower, which felt odd with everything else being so nice. Still, it was a great time!

It was a suitable option for a cursory stop in Newquay with reasonable price. The breakfast spread was impressive, with plenty of hot and cold choices to fuel the day. Check timing for breakfast to avoid crowds during busier mornings.
